The Old and Beautiful…

What happens when you visit a place…known still unknown! You’ve read about it at places…on web, in books, newspaper! You’ve seen its magnificent buildings in videos, on television, in magazines! You know I had this feeling of not going to JAIPUR just because I knew all it had was old buildings, forts and palaces..and endless stories of kings and queens! Whats so special about that! But it seems I was destined to be there..even if it was just a 2-day trip…how awe-some it was!!!
Even before reaching the so-called “Pink City” [Lemme tell you it was called so because the city situated in Rajasthan was established by the then king, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who ordered to paint it PINK!]..I see this beautiful fort, “Amer Fort” where the king resided. It shined golden as sun rays enlightened the yellow-ish walls of it! And I had a sudden feeling of “Damn! I wanted to be here all my life!!!”
Ahmm… I’m extremely sorry that I couldn’t click a picture of the scene! The “heavy” traffic wouldn’t let us stop..traffic that constituted of ELEPHANTS! Why do you think I called it heavy! ;) The elephants stood their waiting for tourists to pay a not-so-huge amount, and then they’d take the tourists on a ride inside the fort! Imagine viewing a fort from the inside sitting on an elephant! *Mega View* it must be!

For pictures of inside the fort, and other beautiful places like Hawa Mahal and Jaigarh Fort, etc., you may want to have a look at the presentation I made out of all that I gathered of Jaipur. So sit back and enjoy the short journey! :)

A Tale to Tell..

Hey all! Its a story that many of us must have heard as a kid :)
It has always impressed me, and so I’m putting it forth for you to have a look!
Great message! :) Quite sure you’d like it ….

Thoughts of You

Thoughts of you in my mind
Slowly creep
I toss and turn in my sleep

Your indifference
Gets me so
I can’t seem to let go

Your warmth
Your tight embrace
And your smiling face

They haunt me
I can’t forget
Haven’t heard from you yet..

Lonely Nights…

I always dreamt we’d grow old together,
and together we’d face each day..
But now, in the tears that roll down my face,
Your memory fades away….

Our problems walked with us in silence.
Dragging on from dusk to dawn..
Leaves collecting at our cold and tired feet.
As the moon looked upon..

Two people sitting by the lake
None would say a word
Knew we were growing apart
Silence piercing as a sword

In my bedroom, surrounded by empty walls,
I want to scream and shout.
My mouth opens, but the tortured words…
Just would not come out.

You, This man I began to love.
Replaced me for “Nothing”
The castles of love built at the shore
Destroyed over one fling.

Wondered how could I be so lucky
I just had it all.
Broken promises.. Shattered dreams
And you watched us fall.

Then I was an empty notebook,
waiting for a poet to come by.
Now I am a heap of paper
that you scribbled and put on fire.

My heart bleeds,
The snow turns red.
But I still hear your swears
Ringing in my head..

You’re like salt on an open wound,
Reminding me you once were here.
Warm like the blood in my veins,
The love I had for you, so dear.

In my distorted, broken dreams.
So empty, yet real.
I’m floating through air.
I touch your face, hoping to feel.

Sorry I loved you so.
And you didn’t feel the same.
When I think of what could have been.
Its a waste! Whom to blame!

Brick by brick, I’ll re-build my life.
I’m stronger when hardest hit.
“I” will stand by myself
Not let myself quit.

Still my conscious asks a question,
that I kind of fear..
Is the grass really greener on the other side?
And the answer I long to hear.

“Eleven Hints for Life”

“Eleven Hints for Life”

I know I’m not a saint! Nor a great philosopher! But there are some things that you come across in life (though I’m probably too young to talk all this! :P ).. that you want others to know..and yourself to remember! And what makes you remember them is bringing them into practice, and not just reading, pondering over it for a little while, and letting go! So these may include quotes that you might have heard somewhere some time, but I’m here with whatever makes sense to me!

1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never
find the courage to let that person know how you feel.
Say before it’s too late.

2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who
means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that
it was never meant to be… You have to learn to let go.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a
porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away
feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.
Don’t let small misunderstandings become so big, that
staying apart becomes the best option.

4. It’s true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose
it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we’ve been
missing until it arrives. Treasure whatever you have!

5. It may only take a minute to form a crush on someone,
an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it
takes a lifetime to forget them. I know I can’t ask you to
think before falling in love.. But think after a moment is over,
Is it even worth forgetting? If you don’t try to fight yourself,
and accept the truth, you’d be at peace, rather than trying hard
to do something that you believe you can’t.

6. Don’t go for looks, they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth,
even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile
because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.

7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go,
be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and
one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8. Put yourself in other’s shoes. If you feel that
it hurts you, then it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck a life.
A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with
a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone
around you was smiling. Live your life in a way that when
you die, you’re the one smiling and everyone around you is
crying. You’d know how your life is actually just love retold!

All I want is YOU..

I can’t describe how I feel
I can’t believe that this could be real
Sometimes I talk to whatever’s above
Praying that this could really be love
I wish I had the words for this emotion
To describe to you this total devotion
I’d crush anything that stood in our way
Fight everything each and every day…

But I can’t shake off this feeling
That one of us could be leaving
I can’t escape this crushing dread
Is that what’s going through your head
I think you want someone not so far away
Someone you can touch and hold every day
And baby, I sometimes wish that too
Not for me, but only for you…

Each day we are getting older
And all the time it’s feeling colder
Every night seems to be longer
But, you know that just makes me stronger
More certain and determined in every way
That when I come, it will be to stay
I hope you share this same dream with me
Wishing and hoping we are meant to be…

We have lived such different lives
I looked at the ground and you looked at the skies
Life doesn’t like either of us too much
But you are blessed with this divine touch
You remind me of an angel, dancing on a star
So bright and so magical, but thats so far
Back on the ground, I’m awed to see
This incredible person looking down at me…

P.S. I wrote the poem some time back..  :)
The pics, though fitting perfectly, ain’t mine. The editing is. Hope you liked it.. Share if you felt it as well.. Thankiez!

‘Cause I Love my Dad…

Hey all! Here’s a wonderful piece of text ( No I’m not praising myself! I don’t own it…Found it somewhere, though I have no idea of the author or the specific source) I loved it.. in fact it got tears to my eyes… A Must Read..

For You.. Dad.

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy’s Day at school,
and she couldn’t wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
if she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
of why he wasn’t there today.
But still her mother worried,
for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
she tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees;
a dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back,
for everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
anxious in their seats
One by one the teacher called a student from the class.
To introduce their daddy, as seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name,
every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
for a man who wasn’t there.
“Where’s her daddy at?”
she heard a boy call out.
“She probably doesn’t have one,”
another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back,
she heard a daddy say,
“Looks like another deadbeat dad,
too busy to waste his day.”
The words did not offend her,
as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,
slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
came words incredibly unique.
“My Daddy couldn’t be here,
because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know..
all about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
and taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him,
I’m not standing here alone.
“Cause my daddy’s always with me,
even though we are apart.
I know because he told me,
he’ll forever be in my heart”

With that, her little hand reached up,
and lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
beneath her favorite dress.
And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love
of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down,
staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
but its message clear and loud.
“I love my daddy very much,
he’s my shining star.
And if he could, he’d be here,
but heaven’s just too far
You see he was a fireman
and died just this past year
When airplanes hit the towers
and taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it’s like he never went away.”
And then she closed her eyes,
and she saw him there that day.

And to her mothers amazement,
she witnessed with surprise
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they saw before them,
who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
they saw him at her side.
“I know you’re with me Daddy,”
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
by the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
that heaven is never too far.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them,
and then an entire life to forget them…
